They listened to all of our needs and they knew exactly what we needed. I can honestly say that I went away with a big happy heart. David Hayton, the company, I can only say has always treated us fairly and punctually. We have made use of the Penrith branch on more than one occasion because the workshop in Kendal cannot accommodate a vehicle the height of our Boxer camper van. As an impending holiday departure came closer, one of the airbags failed, and we had to take the van to Penrith to get the necessary diagnostic examination. The parts were subsequently ordered, but when the time came to book the van in for the work to be carried out, due to the busy-ness of the Penrith branch workshop, the earliest date that we could be offered was over a week away, 5 days too late for our holiday departure.

Thinking that I had nothing to lose by asking, I called in to the Kendal showroom to make an enquiry about the possibility of having the work carried out in Kendal. I reasoned that, as the diagnostic work had already been done, the work might be carried out on the forecourt or the car park, and the height disadvantage of the Kendal workshop would not be an issue. To keep the story short, suffice to say that everyone involved (and I would have to commend the staff at Penrith for their co-operation) was as helpful and accommodating as I could have hoped. Within ten minutes or so of making my initial enquiry I had an assurance that the parts would be transferred from Penrith to Kendal, the van was booked in for the work to be carried out two days hence, and barring unforeseen and random mischance, we would have the van ready to go with a full day to spare.

And now here we are, ready to depart, and nothing now to worry about (fingers crossed) other than the weather. So I have no hesitation in recommending David Hayton's as a company that will deal with you fairly. The only way they could have improved their performance would have been to carry out the work for free! And who knows where that might lead?

I recently purchased a used BMW on behalf of my mother in law from David Hayton, Kendal. I have to say the experience was excellent, I made initial enquiry through Auto Trader, and was called back by Martin in a short space of time after submitting the form, he was very helpful and pleasant on call. I viewed the car at the Kendal location and James was looking after us, he was very polite, helpful and professional all the way through process, he put Mother in law at ease and explained fully all the forms which had to be completed, with him doing all the work.
All the staff we engaged with were very helpful including the lady on the service reception who moved things around so we could get the car soon as possible. On the day we picked up the car, it was clean and well prepared. I think we got a good deal and would definitely use this garage again due to the deal we got and the staff attitude and professionalism. Well done to the team.
