Love this place they took my car in a week early because of some problems I was having with the power steering fluid. They had me bring it in on the Thursday before the long weekend and push to have it returned to me so that I would have it with the long weekend. Really great team of guys work here. Incredibly helpful and honest.

Only knock is that they can get quite busy, so you need to plan a bit in advance.

Took my car here a number of years ago for an overheating engine. I was told it was a blown head gasket and that the repair would be thousands. They offered to arrange having the vehicle scraped when I declined service.

I took the car and drove it to another shop in the city, and they determined it was a leaky oil pan, costing a couple hundred to fix. Worked great after.

Maybe there are new mechanics or management since then, but I wanted to share my experience as it felt very unprofessional.

Excellent customer service and quality of work. I dealt with John most recently and he's been absolutely fantastic, a wealth of knowledge and takes the time to look things up and do the job right. I've dealt here for many years, mainly for exhaust and stainless work, but I've had some minor repair work done in the past as well. Good honest shop and I definitely recommend.

Got my brakes completely done here earlier in the year.

Recently started hearing a noise from my back tire, went to get it checked at a different mechanic. He said that the brake drum was entirely jumbled inside. He was shocked at how badly it had been done prior.

Will not be returning to this location.

Edit after response: I agree with the points. I’ll do my best to fill in the gaps and confusion.

Name is Muhammad Khalid, came in February 2024 for rear worn out brakes. Paid for replacement of rear pads, drums.

Around August 1-2 I start hearing grinding noise coming from my car. It intensified when I turned left and lessened when I turned right. From what I remember, my worn out brakes earlier in the year had a similar symptom. So I figured it had something to do with the brakes. Even though braking was fine.

I have very limited familiarity with cars and their functions. The issue I could only describe through this limited lense.

I called Car Lane using my number that is on file, I described my situation, noting that I believed it was the brake but not entirely sure. They mentioned if I was talking about my car they have on file, I said yes. (At this point I thought it was a new issue with my car. Therefore, I did not associate it with the work done previous.) I asked when they had time available, they said maybe Tuesday August 6th but most likely the week after, August 12. Unfortunately I cannot wait that long, I wanted it fixed earlier.

I called around, looking to see if I could get in earlier, did not find anything. I called back Car Lane asking again to see if they had any time available on Tuesday, they said no. I booked an appointment for August 12 because I did want to bring it back here.

I rely on my car for work so I continued to call around just to see if I could get earlier anywhere, and I was eventually able to find someone who could do it earlier.

Where I took it described the situation as the drum/stuff inside not being installed properly being the reason for the breakage and thus having to install a new kit. I had not described when the previous work was done, who did it and so on until after the work was done.

After that I felt compelled to leave the review.

From my perspective, my initial call to this location, describing the problem the way I did, them having repair history infront of them, should be enough for them to connect the dots. I do not believe the onus is on me to question your work, until I have information leading me that way.

If you truly believe that this problem had nothing to do with the work done at your shop then feel free to respond as such and I will remove the review.
