I recently visited Carbase with my dad as I was in the market for a Toyota Corolla Hybrid. Initially, I was 50/50 about making the purchase. However, my experience with Moe completely changed that. From the moment we began speaking, Moe’s professionalism, knowledge, and approachable demeanor stood out. He wasn’t just trying to sell me a car he genuinely wanted to help me make the best decision. Moe’s understanding of the car and the services that Carbase provides was exceptional. He patiently explained the benefits of the Toyota Corolla Hybrid and why buying from Carbase would be a smart choice. Over the last couple of months, I’ve visited several dealerships, but none of them provided the reassurance or depth of knowledge that Moe did. He took the time to address all my concerns and answered every question thoroughly, leaving no doubt in my mind. One thing I particularly appreciated was how Moe made the entire process feel easy and stress-free. I usually get quite nervous about making big purchases, which is why I brought my dad along for support. I purchased a Ford Focus from Carbase in August 2024, I had the engine management light come on recently and contacted the after sales service centre.
Mike Kelly and his team have been brilliant. Mike is so approachable and his friendly customer focused personality has made the whole repair experience stress free.
Buying a used car can be a gamble but with after sales service like this it takes the risk away.

Awful experience! Avoid at all costs!

We needed a car for the summer so decided to go with car base thinking that being a big dealership, we’d get protection if anything went wrong. Unfortunately, we’ve had the opposite experience. We were convinced to take out over £6000 in finance, including paying £250 for warranty, and within a couple of months the car started having problems. It needed a new catalytic converter. We tried to return the car and they told us they would buy it back off us for just £2000, meaning we’d have to find £4000 ourselves to pay off the finance!! This wasn’t an option so we decided to stick with the car and hope for the best. Unsurprisingly, a few months later we had more issues and the exhaust completely fell off. The garage told us this will cost £650 and that it is unlikely our warranty will cover the cost as they will likely claim
‘Wear and tear’. We are now completely car-less as we wait for this to be fixed, still paying out over £180 on finance every month and with no option but to continue paying! We feel completely ripped off by car base and have no idea how to get ourselves out of the financial situation we’re in as a result of being sold an overpriced, faulty car.

I contacted Carbase Bristol to schedule a test drive of two vehicles I was interested in. However, I was told that I could not test drive both vehicles on the same day, as this was against company policy. I attempted to explain to the sales rep that I would need to test drive both vehicles on the day to compare them and make an informed decision, but this simple and logical request was refused. I think this approach should set off alarm bells for any potential buyer, as any trustworthy and professional business would want to ensure potential buyers are making informed choices.

The practice of needing lots of notice to ‘prepare’ a vehicle before an appointment should also set off alarm bells. If it is on-site, a car should be ready to be driven without the need for any specific pre-appointment intervention.

My son bought a car from here and I would say stay well away from them. We were sold a faulty car, it has been in there for repair more than we have had the time to drive it. One thing after another goes wrong. Worst purchase of our life and on top of that they don't answer the phone. We have been ripped of of alot of money.. I would just say stay well away from these lot.

Unfortunately the car that we were hoping to buy did not 'have a full service history' but instead had one service from the dealership. This meant that the car would not be under manufacture warranty. We had booked to see the car after travelling from East Anglia to Bristol. Incredibly disappointed.

I would not recommend Carbase Bristol because I spent £28K on a Audi E-tron and when I collect the car is was dirty sun cream all over the interior and the steering wheel were not clean inside the windows were disgusting not good for a £28K and on collection. The next day instead of driving my New car I had to send it to be valeted as the windows were that bad I could not see out of them when the sun was onit. Sun cream all Over the dashboard and steering wheel and door cards This car was never cleaned when it was in there ownership. We ask for a cleaning kit as a good will and the answer was no. The showroom was not clean truth be told Tesla parked there no price in the windows flal tyre shocking for a place like this if I'm honest sales manger or GM need to get there site looking better than that for sure. Salesman was good not his fault but he should have made sure it was clean but never did.
