I have been using C & G Autos for over 10years, and brought many many cars from Matt. I have to say I have never ever had a problem with the service. Cars break sometimes and it’s how you they handle it with understanding and speed that keeps me returning.
I cannot recommend a garage as good as this to buy a car from and I have never been made to feel like a customer more like a friend and part of family.
If I could give more stars I would as I think the service and cars provided to me deserve more

I swore after the first time I'd never go back as the car is bought had problems from the start to finish. But desperation and my 86 year old dad who has bought many terrible cars from them too seems to have been fooled into thinking he's getting a deal.
I went to get a car out of desperation and ended up with a black astra estate. Think we had agreed about 7x after saying I'd like it id only take it with a 12 month mot and I was assured it would be done by the next day.
First day I got It I tried to drive to work and warning lights came on..got told to rush back as they were closing but it was fine for me.to loose a day's work
Took it to get fixed in morning and I was assured it had been so started driving to work again and the same issue happened they had to take the car in and I lost a week of work that week. I got there the week after and within a week or 2 I was having a lot of problems again. Turns out it was the dam and due to me working around the country I couldn't get straight back so I managed to get it in a few weeks later and then at this point t found out I didn't even have the 12 month mot so I questioned it and matt lied to my face and tried to manipulate me and convince me we hadn't actually agreed on it even though I said 7x I'm only taking it with a 12 month mot and before leaving double checking to male sure it would be done in time.
All in all the cars are rubbish. If they break he acts like he's doing the favour. He lies through his teeth. Go elsewhere for your used cars

Some of the best customer service i have experienced in an industry where it is not usually associated, along with very knowledgeable staff who gave me clear information of what was required for car to pass MOT and then provided me the quote.
Works came in on price and on time, would recommend C&G autos to anyone who are feeling let down by their own garage.
C&G autos is a family owned independent garage who genuinely wants to look after its customers hoping they will return, I certainly will

I bought a mk5 golf from Matt at C and G Autos 8 months ago.
I paid £1800 for it, provided a new mot was added, on closer inspection I could see the sills were rotton, and had been touched up, the electrics in several areas began to fail. Soon after purchase it was one costly repair, after another.

I did raise some of my concerns, mat disagreed with me. Shortly after that I pull into the yard unannounced to discus a fault that stopped all the dials working to see him touching up the sills on another car. So I have no doubt they did just "patch up" the rotton sills on my car.

The sills on my car were so corroded that after a couple of months the only thing holding them together was the paint, a very light tap with a hammer they just caved in.

I took it to my garage to get checked out. To be told that it would never pass another MOT again. 8 months later, after constantly being in and out of the garage ever month or for something expensive it finally gave in. I called recovery to take it straight to the scrap yard.

In the last 8 months it cost me almost double the purchase price in repairs. Several lost days from work, and the most agrivation I have ever experienced with a car. Even my first car, I purchased 20 years ago was in better condition, and that car was dodgy, the golf I purchased here felt unsafe to drive. I have had no confidence in it not to let me down since I purchased it.

I wouldn't buy another car from there again. I needed a car that was mechanically sound for a year, it didn't look great but mat did ensure me it was sound. I paid £1800, so I didn't expect much, but I did expect to get a safe, road worthy car that would at least get me 12 months out of it.

Although they did offer to correct some of the things they had already lost my trust by that point, so I chose to take care of the repairs myself.

Based on my experience, I don't recommend C & G Autos at all. I will never purchase a car there again.

I lost trust in you because you sold me a heap of garbage, I didn't want another heap of garbage from you. I didn't want MOT from you because I didn't trust you. That is my right! A mechanic I do trust told me it would never pass another MOT, and he was right, it didn't!

"I am really not happy at all. Engine went last night. I have just had to scrap it.
Sills we're held together with paint. It broke down twice before that, the mot cost me almost a grand and just spent 150 getting it to the scrappies." you said your sorry I "had some bad luck" my response was "it wasn't bad luck matt, the car was a piece of sh#t"

That's not a barrage of rude messages, that's a customer not happy with a purchase and service from you. You sold me garbage.

The car was a death trap! and your going to have the neck to call me lair. I saw you with my own eyes patching up the sills on another car. I have just added images to this review of the sills that you said were solid.

My initial review was honest. if your response is to call me a liar I will share the same review to every single review platform in 100 miles radius of your business, with the images of the rotten sills you said were solid! and let the readers of those reviews judge for themselves if you can be trusted. And your public threat!

thankfully I didn't have an accident in the car or it would have folded like a pretzel and potentially killed me and any passengers.

That alone is negligence! never mind the rest of the issues I had with the car.

I bought my car in September 2023 from this garage. Ever since then I cannot thank the staff here enough for all they have done for me and my family from buying the car and after care too, Matt has gone above and beyond to help when he can and will help you anyway possible. I know I can rely on this garage to help without any hassle or fear of being mugged off! I will continue to use this garage for the foreseeable future. I recommend this garage to everyone. This car garage is awesome! Really good customer service off the owner Matt and his team. We brought a nice family car not long ago. We had a couple small issues with the car after a week or 2 of owning, but matt and his team sorted them all hassle free. Couldnt be more happy with the car and the service this garage gave us. I would highly recommend this garage to either fix your car or buy a car from them.
